We will try to respond to each support request as quickly as possible, connecting collectives with what they need, at the right time.
By filling in this form you are joining BRAVA — the Rural Resistance Network. We connect those who resist in their territory with those who can support them with their bodies, knowledge, time or resources.
You can request various kinds of support — financial, legal, technical, communication, event organisation, facilitation, and so on. The data we collect here helps us better understand your needs, consolidate a network of mutual aid, activate local solidarities, and strengthen the struggles under way.

Questions about the fund and how to apply.
Who is this fund for?
There are communities fighting against mining, photovoltaic plants, deforestation and monocultures. Destructive projects threaten the land, the landscape, water and rural life. From north to south, citizen movements are organising to defend their landscapes. Without financial support, many of these struggles cannot continue. This Fund exists to help them at the most critical moments, swiftly and without heavy bureaucracy.
Which entities can apply?
Associations, collectives, citizens and organised groups facing extractivist projects — mines, dams, intensive agriculture or tourism, among others — and rural communities or grassroots environmental NGOs acting locally. You don’t need to already be a member of the BRAVA network: you can apply to the fund and join the network at the same time. For-profit entities are excluded.
What kind of support can I request?
You can request financial support for whatever your movement needs to gain momentum and a voice. Events, communication materials, transport, documentaries, legal support, training, environmental monitoring, protest camps, merchandising, and so on. We want to respond to the needs of those who resist extractivist projects locally.
Can reforestation projects apply?
Usually not. Although that is always an important initiative, it is not the focus of this resistance network. In other words, unless it is part of a struggle against an extractivist project (for example, planting protected trees on a site slated for destruction), it will not be considered.
What are the application deadlines?
It is the community that sets the deadlines. BRAVA accepts applications up until the moment the solidarity fund reaches €3,000. Applications submitted after that amount is reached will only be considered the next time the amount is reached.
Can I apply for the full amount?
You can, but… there are other struggles in need of support, and giving €3,000 to a single collective would deny others access to the fund. In the name of the solidarity that must exist between struggles, we ask that this be taken into account. Also because the jury, faced with several funding requests, will have to make its decision. Supporting one project with the full amount means not supporting others, and the idea of this fund is a solidary, considered distribution among those who need it.
Can the amounts for each action exceed those set out, as long as they don’t exceed €3,000? (e.g. 1500 for forest restoration, 800 for training, 350 for shirts, 350 for soil and water analyses?)
They can, and the more detailed the requested budget and the expected impacts, the easier it is for the jury to decide the allocation of funds. But we remind you that the €3,000 is to be distributed among several support requests, so we ask that the relevance and needs of other struggles be taken into account.
Will the outcome of the application go to a single entity?
Funds are delivered to the IBAN provided, and we trust the collectives to manage them well. The total amount of the solidarity fund (€3,000) will be distributed among the different funding requests, according to the decision made by the jury (which is drawn periodically and at random from among the fund’s contributors, regardless of the amount donated).
Where does the Solidarity Fund’s money come from? Does it come from a public body or a political party?
No. The Solidarity Fund comes from the community; it is fed exclusively by donations from those who support BRAVA — people, citizens and small collectives who believe in the cause. For this fund we do not receive money from public bodies or political parties. That is why the fund is ours, everyone’s, and the decision on how it is distributed is made in solidarity, by a jury drawn from among those who donated.
Where and how do I apply?
You fill in the funding request form (template available), save it as a PDF and submit it through the online form — it is not accepted by email. Maximum 5 pages.
What is asked for in the application?
The collective’s contacts, a presentation of the group and its history, the purpose of the request, the project’s stage of progress, the budget (amount requested and what it is for), how you will measure the success of the funds’ use, other funding sources, and other resources you may need (logistics, contacts, outreach, etc.).
Do I need to present the project to someone?
Yes. Each application must provide for 1–2 people to present the project to the Cooperative Assembly for Grant Allocation — in person or online, by videoconference. You will receive practical information in a later contact.

A note on personal data
The document is read by several randomly selected people (the jury), so names, phone numbers and emails should only go in the online form — not in the project document itself.
When will I know the outcome?
Within a maximum of 1 month, depending on the availability of the drawn jury.
Once approved, do I need to justify the expenses?
No report is required, but we follow the movements to understand how the project is going and whether you need more help.
If I’ve been supported before, can I apply again?
Yes, it is possible.
Do I need a legal structure (association, tax number) to apply?
No, it is not necessary.
